**Registration has closed**Come to Duke Health on October 22-24 for the Only Conference Exclusively for Support Services LeadersJoin us for our 17th annual conference, at Duke Health in Durham, North Carolina. US News recently placed Duke University Hospital on its Honor Roll of the Top 20 hospitals. We'll gather on the beautiful Duke University campus, home of Duke Medical Center. You'll network with and learn from your support services peers from Duke as well as top systems from around the country. Meet others like you overseeing non-clinical service lines, including environmental services, food and nutrition, security, patient transport, supply chain, and more. You'll get to know your colleagues from Duke as well as such HSSF member organizations as Johns Hopkins, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York-Presbyterian, UCI Health, UCLA Medical Center, UAB Medicine, Cedars-Sinai, and more. The Theme: Better TogetherDuke Health, like many systems, is working to better coordinate and leverage its strengths across the entire organization. Their efforts are guided by the principle of "Better Together", recognition that working together is far more effective than working independently, as departments and individuals. But it also recognizes that improving as individuals is key to improving as an organization. We'll hear about how this approach plays out in support services. Our Host: Duke HealthWe'll meet on the gorgeous Duke University Campus, not far from the Raleigh Durham Airport. Take some extra time to walk around and visit such landmarks as Cameron Indoor Stadium, the Duke Chapel, and the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. This year we'll start the conference at 2:00 on October 22 with a tour of Duke Raleigh Hospital. We will tour the 210,200 square-foot South Pavilion that compliments the hospital’s North Pavilion. The new building incorporates art throughout, with a large, open lobby displaying work from local artists. An outdoor courtyard with dining areas, a tranquility garden and walking paths provides patients and visitors an opportunity to enjoy fresh air and sunshine. Touring areas will include but not be limited to inpatient areas, perioperative department, PACU, nutrition services and the tranquility garden to name a few. When the tour is over, we'll provide a bus from the Duke Raleigh Hospital to the JB Duke Hotel, where the Welcome Reception is hosted and some attendees are staying. Plan your arrival accordingly. Kristie Barazsu, Associate COO, and her team will be our hosts.
The DetailsHSSF members and non-members are both invited. Members receive free registrations as benefits of their membership. By registering, non-members will receive an annual Individual membership in HSSF. Members must register, too.
