HSSF Study of Laundry & Linen Management Practices

In late January we launched a collaborative study of laundry and linen management practices. Participating hospital support services leaders shared information about how they manage the function - strategies, successes, challenges, and performance data.

Participants shared information such as:

  • On-premise, purchased service, or co-op? What are the pros and cons of each?
  • Utilization and performance measures
  • Locus of organizational responsibility
  • Approach to pickup, processing, cart prep, distribution, and par management
  • Experiences with improvement initiatives and technologies
  • Other topics important to the group

Participants completed a short questionnaire and had a phone conversation with Jeff Wickham, HSSF Managing Director. We'll highlight notable practices and have an online discussion of results in mid-May. Presentation documents and recordings of the discussion will be available afterwards to participants. All HSSF members will have access to the study abstract.

HSSF members (both individual and institutional) joined this study at no charge. Non-members contributed a fee.
